In 2025–2026, 37.56% of students were proficient in English Language Arts, compared with 52.81% statewide and 38.36% in the Toledo School District. Third-grade ELA was especially low at 26.09%, compared with 44.87% in fourth grade and 40.91% in fifth grade. Compared with nearby schools, Toledo Elementary School generally falls below the area’s strongest performers but is not among the lowest. Adna Elementary School had substantially higher ELA and math results, while Toutle Lake Elementary, Napavine Elementary, and Orin C Smith Elementary School also led Toledo in ELA. Toledo outperformed Castle Rock Elementary and Winlock Miller Elementary in ELA and math, and its science result exceeded Onalaska Elementary School. The school has recovered from its 2020–2021 and 2022–2023 ranking lows, but strengthening literacy—especially in third grade—remains the most important opportunity.
