Quincy High School

Quincy High School is a traditional public school for grades 9–12 in Quincy, Washington, serving about 860 students in a Central Washington community with a relatively high-need student population. In 2024–25, 78.49% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch. The school had an 18.2:1 student-teacher ratio and spent $19,174 per student in 2023–24.

The school’s strongest outcomes are graduation, student persistence, and English Language Arts. Quincy’s 2024–25 graduation rate was 89.8%, well above the state rate of 82.6% and the Quincy School District rate of 76.3%. Its dropout rate was 4.7%, also better than the district and state rates. In 2025–26, 53.22% of students were proficient in ELA, slightly above the statewide rate and higher than Ephrata High School and Soap Lake Middle & High School. However, Quincy’s statewide ranking was 313th of 396 schools, in the 21st percentile. Although that improved from the prior year, the school remains below the statewide midpoint.

Math and science are the clearest areas for improvement. Only 18.7% of students were proficient in math and 24.73% in science, both far below state averages and below Ephrata High School, though Quincy outperformed Soap Lake Middle & High School in both subjects. Quincy also had higher graduation and lower dropout rates than Soap Lake. Subgroup results were strongest for migrant students, who ranked in the 56th percentile, while English Language Learner results declined notably. Overall, Quincy appears effective at keeping students engaged through graduation, but families should look closely at plans to strengthen math, science, and support for students learning English.
