River Ridge High School is a public grades 9–12 school in Lacey, Washington, serving 1,547 students in the North Thurston Public Schools district, a South Puget Sound area with a substantial military-connected community. For 2025–2026, River Ridge ranked in the 55th percentile statewide, or 178th of 396 schools. This was a meaningful improvement from the 40th percentile the previous year and the 45th percentile in 2023–2024. Its latest ranking is close to Timberline High School and ahead of its earlier performance, but below North Thurston High School, which ranked in the 67th percentile.

Academically, River Ridge’s clearest strength is English language arts. In 2025–2026, 65.87% of students were proficient, well above both the district and Washington averages. However, mathematics remains the biggest challenge: proficiency was 30.56%, compared with 43.11% statewide. Science proficiency was 41.98%, also below the district and state results.
