As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Clara Barton Elementary is a great school that really cares about the wellbeing of the whole child. Although it is relatively a newer school, the school management has put in a lot of effort to build a strong staff and student community which shows in their achievements. Besides focus on academics, the school also focuses on values which I believe are needed to set the foundation for success. They are supported by a strong PTSA which works diligently to provide a variety of enrichment activities for the students. The school is in the midst of million dollar homes with high achieving parents. So, expectations from parents are always high! :) Close Quote

Open Quote Agree with the review on principal above. Pretty clueless and unimaginative way of dealing with K-1. The only silver lining for the remote kids was interaction with other kids via Teams before each meeting began. The autocratic principal in her infinite wisdom banned that. Screw the kids mental health, right? Close Quote

Open Quote My review primarily reflects the disastrous remote learning policies forced on students and teachers by the principal as well as the reluctance to receive feedback. Kids as young as 5 year old were forced into short blips of 20 minute meetings and implicitly REQUIRED at least one parent to sit with them through out the day. My kid quite literally learnt more in four 1 hr zipschool zoom classes in summer than the 4 months at Clara Barton during the current remote learning. All feedback given about not having enough time for adequate engagement with students were brushed aside. The teachers are great in the school, but constrained by a principal without creativity and ability to take feedback. The school would do much better with another principal. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
