Summary

Inglewood Middle School is a large grades 6–8 school in Sammamish, serving 1,229 students in the highly competitive Lake Washington School District, where several nearby schools rank among Washington’s best. Inglewood ranked 6th of 514 Washington middle schools in 2025–26 and has remained in the top 10 statewide for roughly a decade, earning a five-star rating in every reported year. Its academic results are strong across all tested subjects: 84.48% of students were proficient in English language arts, 78.70% in math, and 82.31% in science. Those results exceeded district averages and were roughly 31–36 percentage points above state results.

Inglewood is part of an unusually strong local group. Evergreen Middle School ranked first statewide and Timberline Middle School ranked third, while Pine Lake Middle School ranked second and Beaver Lake Middle School ranked fourth. Inglewood trails these leaders most clearly in math, but its science performance compares favorably, including a result above Timberline’s. Grade-level math results are especially steady: all three grades were between 78.53% and 78.99%. English language arts was strongest in seventh grade at 87.09%, while sixth grade’s 80.11% remains solid.

Recent trends are encouraging. Science rebounded from 73.67% proficiency in 2023–24 to 82.31% in 2025–26, rising above the district average, while math and ELA have also improved overall since 2022–23. The school’s subgroup rankings are broadly strong, including especially high relative performance for English language learners, students from low socioeconomic-status backgrounds, and students receiving special education services; the special education ranking improved from the 70th to the 91st percentile over three years. Inglewood is larger and has a slightly higher student-teacher ratio than most nearby schools, yet maintains top-tier results with moderate per-student spending. By contrast, small Renaissance School of Art and Reasoning serves only 80 students, making it a less direct comparison.

Open Quote I used to go to Pine Lake Middle School. It was a great place, it had great teachers, it was a nice environment, and had good lockers. It had a good education program. Then unfortunately I had to move to Inglewood Middle School. Inglewood had nothing, that was good. I was so mad that I moved to this school. There are so many bad things with this school, I can't even put it all in here. Never go to this school, and if you are forced to transfer immediately. Close Quote
