Summary

Lincoln Elementary is a public K-5 school serving 334 students in the Ellensburg School District, and it stands out as a remarkable success story of consistent academic improvement over the past decade.

The school has shown dramatic growth, rising from one of the lower-ranked schools in the state to a solidly above-average performer today, outperforming the district average in English, math, and science. A particular area of excellence is science, where Lincoln's students significantly outperform those at other local schools like Mt. Stuart Elementary and Ida Nason Aronica Elementary, as well as the Washington state average. The school also demonstrates notable effectiveness with its student population, showing strong performance trends.

While Valley View Elementary remains the top performer within the district, Lincoln's impressive upward trajectory—coinciding with higher per-student spending—makes it a compelling case study in school turnaround. Its test scores are consistently strong across all grade levels, and it has successfully narrowed historical performance gaps, establishing itself as a steadily improving and effective choice for families in Ellensburg.
