Summary

Oak Heights Elementary is a K-6 public school serving about 525 students in Lynnwood, Washington, as part of the Edmonds School District, and it performs solidly for its student population despite having moderate resources.

When compared to nearby schools, Oak Heights stands out for getting stronger academic results than some schools with similar student demographics. For instance, it outperforms Cedar Way Elementary and Lynnwood Elementary in key subjects. It also shows notable strength in supporting its English Language Learner students. Interestingly, its closest neighbor, Hazelwood Elementary, achieves almost identical results but spends significantly more per student, highlighting Oak Heights's efficiency.

The school's performance is a mix of strengths and areas for growth. Its math scores are above the state average, while reading is slightly below. However, science is a clear area where the school lags behind both the state and higher-performing schools in the district like Brier Elementary and Hilltop Elementary. The school's ranking has improved in recent years but has shown more volatility than others, suggesting it may be sensitive to annual changes.

Open Quote Huge sense of community at this school. Teachers are caring and active in the students lives. Only issues we had are that the grounds/buildings need a serious update and the way they teach Math in the lower grades is a bit different. Takes some getting used to, but may find that at any school. They always center activities and extra curriculars around the students and enrichment. My 3rd grader loves this school. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter has a learning disability and all the staff at oak height elementary did such a great job in helping her succeed in her education. If she had not been at this school I don't think she would have grown into the beautiful talented child that she is now. She had the best support team and now she loves school and excels in math. Thank you everyone at Oak Heights We Love You. Close Quote
