Summary:

Central Kitsap School District serves about 11,100 students in 19 schools across grades K–12 in the Central Kitsap area of Kitsap County, including elementary, middle, high, and alternative schools. Overall, the district ranks 59th of 238 Washington districts, placing it around the 75th percentile. Families will find considerable variation among schools, so districtwide results are useful for context but do not tell the whole story.

Emerald Heights Elementary is the clearest elementary standout, ranking around the 93rd percentile and leading the district in both English language arts and math. Brownsville Elementary is another well-rounded choice, with strong ELA, math, and science results. Cottonwood Elementary School has made one of the district’s biggest ranking improvements, while Esquire Hills Elementary has shown positive momentum and above-comparison math performance. By contrast, Woodlands Elementary has the lowest elementary ranking and weakest ELA and science results, while Pinecrest Elementary remains a lower-performing school despite recent math improvement.

Among middle schools, Ridgetop Middle School ranks highest and performs especially well in ELA and science; Fairview Middle School is the clearest improvement priority. At the high-school level, Olympic High School combines the district’s highest graduation rate with strong ELA and science results and a major ranking improvement. Klahowya Secondary has the highest high-school ranking and lowest traditional-school dropout rate. Across secondary schools, math is the most consistent concern. Barker Creek Community School should be evaluated separately because its alternative K–12 model and student population differ substantially from traditional schools.
