Summary

Grantsville School is a public elementary school in Grantsville, Utah, serving 695 students in prekindergarten through sixth grade within the Tooele District.

The school’s biggest concern is academic performance. In 2025–26, Grantsville ranked 458th of 563 Utah schools, at the 19th percentile, and received one star. Proficiency averaged 31.7% in English language arts, 28.1% in math, and 38.4% in science—below both district and state averages. Math is the clearest priority, especially in grades 5 and 6, where only 23.4% of students were proficient. Fourth-grade math was a relative bright spot at 37.2%, slightly above the district result. The school’s ranking has improved from its 14th-percentile low in 2022–23 but remains well below its 43rd-percentile standing in 2015–16.

Attendance is a meaningful strength: chronic absenteeism fell from 44.2% in 2021–22 to 22.2% in 2024–25, below both the Tooele District and Utah rates. However, stronger attendance has not yet produced comparable academic results. Nearby Twenty Wells Elementary, just 2.26 miles away, ranked at the 39th percentile and outperformed Grantsville in every tested subject and grade. Stansbury Park School and Rose Springs School performed substantially better, while Grantsville ranked ahead of Settlement Canyon School, Willow School, Northlake School, and Overlake School. With a 22.0 student-to-teacher ratio and nearly 700 students, consistent instruction, upper-elementary math support, and learning from higher-performing nearby schools appear especially important.
