As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My children and I have been at Excelsior Academy for 4 yrs now. You'll notice I include myself because I'm at the school volunteering all the time. Our kids education has always come first in our home. That is the reason, since day one, I have been so involved with the school. Every teacher and member of admin, board members, I've met and worked with is magnificent! They put the children first and always have their best interest at heart. If a parent would like to come in and help out and observe what's going on in class the teachers are thrilled! In fact they love present involvement. If you ever have a concern you can work with your teacher, and instructor. Even the directors are happy to help in any way possible.
Due to the leveled learning my daughter was able to move up a grade level in reading because that's where she excels. In math she struggles a bit so she put in a slower pace group, and is now caught up with grade level. These kids are learning things in 3rd grade I didn't learn until high school. Best part, they understand it and LOVE IT!
I can't say enough good things about this school. Take a tour for yourself and see the magic for yourself 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 Close Quote

Open Quote The management company is shady and the board does not conform to its own charter. They amend to fit their own whims. For example, they decided it would be in their best interest is they appoint their own members instead of having the parents do it. In any other district, it's an election process. They also amended the charter to increase class size. As a former parent/teacher there, I would never send my children to a school who cares more about the dollar than the child. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
