Monroe School

Monroe School is a K–5 elementary school in Monroe, Utah, serving 537 students in the Sevier District, a rural community school with a three-star rating and a statewide ranking in the 62nd percentile.

Monroe School performs above average overall, with mathematics standing out as its clearest strength. In 2025–2026, 66.0% of third graders and 62.2% of fourth graders were proficient in math, exceeding both district and state results. Fifth-grade math was lower at 50.5%, but still above the Utah rate. English language arts was also strong in grades 3 and 4, where Monroe exceeded statewide results, while fifth-grade ELA was a significant weakness at 35.6%. Science showed a similar pattern: fourth grade was above district and state levels, while fifth grade lagged. Compared with similarly sized Pahvant School, Monroe performed better in every tested subject in grades 3 and 4 but trailed in all three fifth-grade subjects. Compared with very small Koosharem School and Oscarson School, Monroe offers a much larger-school setting, so those comparisons should be interpreted cautiously. Overall, Monroe is above average, with strong grades 3–4 results and improving attendance, but it would benefit from focused fifth-grade support, especially in reading and writing.
