Summary

Parkside School is a public elementary school in Clinton, Utah, serving 408 students in prekindergarten through sixth grade as part of Davis District. The school is currently ranked 289th of 563 Utah elementary schools, placing it at the 49th percentile with a 2-star rating. That is a notable decline from the 79th percentile in 2023–24 and 72nd percentile in 2024–25. Even so, Parkside remains one of the stronger traditional public schools in its immediate area, ranking above nearby West Clinton School, Holt School, Sunset School, and Doxey School.

Science is Parkside’s clearest academic strength. In 2025–26, proficiency reached 69.1% in fourth grade and 58.9% in fifth grade, exceeding both district and state results in those grades. Fourth-grade math was also strong at 59.0%, but fifth-grade math fell to 35.3%. English language arts is the main concern: proficiency averaged about 42.3% across grades 3–6, with results of 35.4% in fifth grade and 38.0% in sixth grade. Those upper-grade results are well below district averages and much lower than Parkside’s own 2023–24 performance. Clinton School was a stronger nearby comparison in several ELA grades, while Voyage Academy posted higher scores overall but operates in a different school system.

Attendance is an important positive: Parkside’s chronic absenteeism rate dropped to 14.1% in 2024–25, the lowest among the nearby schools reviewed and well below the rates at Clinton, West Clinton, Holt, Sunset, and Doxey. Its 18.9-to-1 student-teacher ratio was also more favorable than that of most local schools. About 24.26% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch, a lower share than at most nearby traditional public schools, though this context should be considered when comparing results. Overall, Parkside offers a comparatively favorable local option with strong science, improved attendance, and relatively favorable staffing, but parents should pay close attention to the recent decline in statewide ranking and the need for improvement in upper-grade ELA and mathematics.
