As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Not a good school for special needs children. This is not just the ravings of one upset parent. I have talked to several after the smoke and mirrors illusion of this being a great school was lifted from my perspective. Another mom I know has had Utah Parent Advocates accompany her to IEP meetings. Former students have told me how sad their rotation made them because the kids weren't getting the help they needed. All the people leaving reviews on here must have perfect children that are considered good enough for Edith Bowen. They repeatedly sent my autistic son home as a "punishment". Read some books on autism, please. They prefer familiar, comfortable environments, as do most of us. Of course he is going to act up, if he gets the reward of going home. My husband tried to help my son in the classroom to settle down and he was asked to leave. I have been told by a teacher, "Word better not get out that this is the school for kids with disabilities. It will bankrupt the school." This was said to a mother of 3 children with IEP's. I'm part of their funding problem apparently. That would make sense for them to make us as uncomfortable as possible to force us out of the school. The school counselor has told me, "We don't have the expertise for special needs children." Go ahead and keep sending your perfect children to Edith Bowen, that's all that's good enough for them. But maybe you would be better off supporting your neighborhood elementary school. I know my children were certainly doing much better at Bridger than they did this last year at Edith Bowen. Don't be conned by all their certifications and awards, half the public elementary schools in Logan have earned the same designations. I know first hand of an employee that left this year because of the "drama." Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
