Middle Schools in Sevier District

Sevier District has three middle schools serving grades 6–8 in a relatively small Utah community: Red Hills Middle, South Sevier Middle, and North Sevier Middle, together enrolling 987 students.

South Sevier Middle is the strongest overall performer. It ranks 56th of 217 Utah middle schools, is in the 74th percentile, and has a four-star rating. It also has the highest average proficiency in English language arts, mathematics, and science, along with the lowest chronic absenteeism rate in the district. Its strongest subject is science, with an average proficiency of 69.4%. Red Hills Middle is larger and shows mixed results: science is a clear strength, averaging 63.3%, and the school improved its ranking from the previous year. However, mathematics is weaker, averaging 34.1%, and its chronic absenteeism rate of 37.5% is the highest among the three schools.

North Sevier Middle needs the greatest academic attention, ranking 138th of 217 schools, in the 36th percentile, with a two-star rating. Its sixth- and seventh-grade results are especially low in mathematics and science, although eighth-grade performance is notably stronger: students exceed district averages in all three subjects. Across the district, mathematics is the most consistent challenge, particularly in sixth grade, while science is a major strength at South Sevier Middle and Red Hills Middle. Chronic absenteeism is also above the state rate at every school, making attendance an important area for families and educators to monitor.
