Hawthorn Academy

Hawthorn Academy includes two schools serving 1,364 students in the West Jordan and South Jordan areas of Utah: Hawthorn Academy West Jordan, an alternative school serving grades K–9, and Hawthorn Academy South Jordan, an elementary school serving grades K–6. The schools have similar enrollments and nearly identical free or reduced-price lunch participation, but they differ in school type, grade span, staffing, attendance, and the academic information available.

Hawthorn Academy West Jordan has 743 students, a lower student-teacher ratio of 16.9:1, and chronic absenteeism of 33.5%. These are more favorable operational measures than at Hawthorn Academy South Jordan, which has 621 students, a 20.0:1 student-teacher ratio, and chronic absenteeism of 37.1%.
