Summary

Spring Creek Elementary is a high-performing public school in Dallas, TX, serving 422 students in grades PK-6 as part of the Richardson Independent School District (Isd), and it consistently ranks in the 98th percentile statewide, making it one of the top elementary schools in Texas.

This school stands out for its exceptional support of all students, particularly those in Special Education (ranking in the 99th percentile statewide) and Gifted & Talented programs (ranking in the 100th percentile). Its academic scores are consistently excellent across all subjects and grade levels, with reading proficiency rates ranging from 83% to 88% and math proficiency from 72% to 84%—dramatically higher than district and state averages. While nearby Brentfield Elementary is a close competitor, Spring Creek outperforms it in science, with 71% of 5th graders proficient compared to Brentfield's 61%. The school also compares favorably to Arapaho Classical Magnet, as Spring Creek achieves its high results as a standard neighborhood school without a selective admissions process.

One area for growth is the performance gap for students from low socio-economic backgrounds, where the school ranks in the 60th percentile—a drop from previous years. This highlights a challenge in ensuring equity across all student groups. For families who can access it, Spring Creek offers a world-class elementary education that rivals the best private schools in the area, and its consistent 5-star rating over the past decade makes it a major draw for families in the neighborhood.

Open Quote Spring Creek Elementary is an excellent school with great teachers and a staff who genuinely care about the students and their academic success. The school is small (only two classes per grade), as is the teacher to student ratio, so the kids get extra attention in the class room. Spring Creek has an many extra curricular activities including an award winning chess club, a strong music and arts program, as well as many opportunities for student leadership. Spring Creek has a very active PTA and many "family" oriented events each year including 'Spring Fling', 'Multi Cultural Night', and RHS Homecoming Parade Float Participation (built each year by THE SUPER DADS CLUB). This school is one that I am proud to send my kids to every day. I know that they are in a environment that is nurturing and safe, but above all, fosters learning and creativity. Close Quote
