Summary

Meridian World School LLC is a public charter school in Round Rock, TX, serving 1,745 students from Kindergarten through 12th grade as a stand-alone district, and it stands out for its exceptionally high academic performance across nearly all subjects and grade levels.

Meridian World School consistently achieves proficiency rates that are 30 to 40 percentage points higher than the Texas state average. For example, in the 2025-2026 school year, 7th Grade Reading proficiency was 90.97% compared to the state average of 54.04%, and English II End-of-Course exam proficiency reached an extraordinary 95.28%. The school also boasts a near-perfect graduation rate of 100% and a dropout rate of effectively 0%. While nearby schools like S T E P - Detention and Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute serve specialized, at-risk populations with higher dropout rates, Meridian is a mainstream, high-retention school. Compared to Gateway College Preparatory School, another high-performing charter, Meridian outperforms in most core subjects, such as 5th Grade Math (85.53% vs. 40.28%) and English I EOC (92.91% vs. 85.61%).

One interesting finding is the 7th Grade Math STAAR score, which shows a 0% proficiency rate for multiple years. This is likely because all 7th graders are enrolled in Algebra I and take the Algebra I EOC exam instead, where the school scores well above the state average (70.8% in 2025-2026). The school spends approximately $8,000-$8,500 per student, significantly less than specialized schools like Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute ($17,594), yet achieves superior results. This consistent year-over-year excellence, particularly in English Language Arts, demonstrates a stable and effective educational model that makes Meridian a standout choice for families seeking high academic standards.

Open Quote Very poor culture in general. Most teachers are inexperienced and not equipped to deal with a flawed charter school system. Meridian is terrible with students with learning differences, or certainly was with mine. They refused to test her or acknowledge that there was an issue and instead suggested 4 hours of tutoring a week (for a 3rd grader). After spending $3500 out of pocket on private testing, it was conclusive that she absolutely had learning disabilities that could have been addressed and managed. We left Meridian and she is a straight A student in a stellar public school. Close Quote

Open Quote We have moved out of state or our children would have remained at Meridian Schools. The move has taught our family that the education they were receiving at Meridian far exceeds what they are receiving in our new location. The school we moved into is great and highly rated on great schools and in testing. Fortunately for you and unfortunately for us, we came from an awesome school (Meridian) and now are very upset that to try to find a school 1/2 as good as Meridian will cost us about 40,000 a year. Open Quote I am thrilled with the IB education my three children are receiving. They will all stay at Meridian through 12th grade! Close Quote
