Summary

Harmony School Of Achievement - Houston is a public charter elementary school (K-5) in Houston, TX, serving 694 students and part of the Harmony Public Schools - Houston North district. This school stands out as a top performer in its area, ranking in the 87th percentile statewide for the 2025-2026 school year, which is dramatically higher than many nearby schools like Lee Elementary (20th percentile), Kirk Elementary (21st percentile), and Lieder Elementary (29th percentile).

The school's most impressive strength is its exceptional performance in mathematics, where proficiency rates across all tested grades far exceed state averages and neighboring schools. For example, in 4th grade math, Harmony achieved a 73.21% proficiency rate, while the next best nearby school, Lowery Elementary, reached 67.21%, and others like Wilson Elementary and Horne Elementary scored below 50%. This success is particularly notable because Harmony serves a predominantly low socio-economic status population (nearly 71% of students eligible for free or reduced lunch) and operates with a higher student-to-teacher ratio (18.3:1) than its neighbors, yet still achieves superior academic outcomes.

Harmony has shown a clear upward trajectory in performance, rebounding strongly after the pandemic and reaching its highest rank in recent years. The school is also highly efficient, delivering top results with lower per-student spending ($8,707) compared to schools like Bear Creek Elementary ($11,783) and Kirk Elementary ($11,108), which rank much lower. While the school excels for most student groups, it is worth noting that Asian students have seen a decline in performance, dropping from the 72nd percentile to the 37th percentile in recent years. Overall, Harmony School Of Achievement is a compelling option for parents seeking a high-quality, efficient education in the Houston area.

Open Quote First year at this school, this school is extremely disorganized. Teacher to student ratio is 32:1. The core value they wish the uphold is neither. The people who's running the school have done a disservice of these values. I would NOT recommend...very disappointed Close Quote
