Open Quote They are led by a very NOT present principal who has the position because of his nationality and not his knowledge. Instead of thinking of the students' education, he actually shortened their academic time so they can have recess in middle school, because PE "is not the same." Teachers are "required" to do things outside of their contracts. Just anonymously ask any teacher who won't be afraid of backlash. Close Quote

Open Quote Harmony understands STEM better than most. They have coupled that knowledge with some great art classes, like woodcraft, ceramics, and fine art drawing. Teachers know and truly understand what they are teaching. Newer teachers have coaches to lean on for support. Teachers are available in and out of classrooms as well. At the end of the day everyone is here for the kids, and I believe it shows. In the area one would be challenged to find a better school. Lots of after schools clubs you simply cant find at most other schools these days. No school is perfect, but they have a growth mindset and are really striving to make a difference in kids lives. Open Quote The school is all show. Little to no help administratively, especially in the area of discipline. Children know that they can push the limits and that there wont be any serious consequences for it. Yet since the teachers have to deal with this imbalance, its suddenly the teacher's fault why the kids behave the way they do. Systematic displacement of responsibility at its finest. Not to mention the ethnocentricism (favoritism) that goes on here. If you are from a certain country, you will have virtually no enforcement or reprimanding from administrators. But enough about the staff and to the children. Many kids here are two to three levels below their current grade. One wonders how is this even possible. Its simple really. When kids dont pass their grades and their STAAR tests, the schools admin ask the parents if they want their child to be retained or passed. Knowing most parents, most want their kids to be passed. Thats it. Kids who should remain in the grade again are passed. Why? I dont know, maybe to retain positive school rating or maybe admin is intimidated by parents. Who knows. Sad part is, the teachers will be expected to perform miracles on children who shouldnt be in the grade. Its evident most parents dont know (or dont care) whats going on. What a sad state of affairs for a public school, masking behind the facade of a great educational establishment. Close Quote
