Open Quote We sent our child to this school for kindergarten and frankly it was a complete terrible year for him. He had some adjusting to do going to school for the first time and learning to listen and obey his teachers. His teacher was very impatient and unskilled to handle him, and so consequently several times made him stay in the hallway for the entire day, including recess and lunch, for a week or two at a time. We wanted to be able to stop in and see him for short bits to help with through the adjustment but we were denied every time. Many more bad things happened that year but upon learning a new teacher was to be there the following year, we decided to give it a try again. Once he started first grade he was struggling to adjust. We as parents thought it would be good to stop in once in a very long while for lunch or worship to support him. The hand book stated we had that right , but asked we notify the teachers. So we notified the teacher the day and time I would be stopping by. We were told that was ok. I ended up being met at the door by the teacher and was told it wouldn’t work and that I couldn’t come in. After much pushing I was able to sit in for worship for about 30 minutes one day. Later the principal decided we would have a meeting with a board member and the teachers and a person from their conference. At that meeting we were told that it was disruptive to the class and that the handbook was wrong about allowing parents in the classroom, but that it was something they would work on (allowing parents in the classroom). Fast forward a few months later the handbook was changed, and stated that parents were not allowed in the classroom unless granted by the principal. There was also a letter sent out asking the parents to sign agreeing to the new rule, but that it didn’t matter if we signed , as it applied anyway. I find this school VERY UNSAFE for children to be at. When parents are not allowed to see their small child in the classroom or be where they are. I as a parent I should not have to ask permission to see my child. Every school I have been involved with or toured, has been very supportive of parents being involved with their child in the classroom. This school on the other hand seems extremely secretive. It came to the point where we decided to pull our child from this school. But before we notified the school we got a letter stating our child would be removed, because we wanted the right to be able to visit the classroom for an occasional worship or lunch. Take warning to this if you are considering sending your child here. Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
