Gallatin Senior High School is a large, traditional public high school serving 1,644 students in grades 9–12 in Gallatin, Tennessee, a suburban community roughly 30 miles northeast of Nashville. The school is part of Sumner County Schools, a district ranked among the top 25% of Tennessee districts, yet Gallatin itself ranks 164th out of 400 Tennessee high schools (59th percentile, 3 stars) for 2025–2026. That places it well behind every nearby comprehensive high school in the county: Station Camp High School ranks 10th statewide, Liberty Creek High School 14th, Beech Senior High School 30th, White House High School 32nd, and Hendersonville High School 36th. Gallatin was a 4-star school before 2020 but has not returned to that level since.

The most urgent concern is chronic absenteeism: 25.3% of Gallatin students were chronically absent in 2024–2025, more than double the district rate of 12.2% and well above the state rate of 18.3%. Nearby schools report rates between 10.9% and 16.1%. Academically, Gallatin lags the district in every core subject.
