Summary

Cane Ridge High School is a large traditional public high school in Antioch, Tennessee, serving 1,982 students in grades 9–12 as part of Metro Nashville Public Schools. The school currently ranks 302 out of 400 Tennessee high schools (24th percentile, 1 star) for the 2025–2026 school year, which represents a notable climb from the 3rd percentile in 2022–2023 and the 9th percentile just last year.

The most encouraging news is in the classroom. Cane Ridge posted some of the largest academic gains in the area this year: Biology I proficiency jumped from 17.1% to 28.2%, US History from 10.1% to 25.5%, and Integrated Math III from 6.8% to 27.9%. The school has also become dramatically more effective for historically underserved groups. Special education students moved from the 5th percentile statewide to the 67th percentile, and African American, Hispanic, and low-income students all saw major jumps in their state rankings. That said, overall proficiency remains below state averages, especially in English I (14.3%) and Integrated Math I (9.1%).

The biggest barrier is attendance. 41.8% of students are chronically absent, and the graduation rate sits at 80.4% with a dropout rate of 16.1%—more than double the state average. Nearby Antioch High School looks very similar, but options like LEAD Southeast School (13.6% absenteeism, 95.2% graduation) and Nolensville High School (11.9% absenteeism) show what's possible with stronger engagement. Cane Ridge is clearly improving academically; the question now is whether it can convert that momentum into better daily attendance and higher graduation rates.

Cane Ridge is a pretty good school although like any other school it faces problems with fights. The classes are good and teachers actually care but some of the students aren't that great. Although if you find the right people to spend you high school years with you'll be fine, otherwise good luck. Close Quote
