Summary

Bradley Academy - An Arts Integrated School is a public elementary school serving 342 students in grades K-6 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, which is part of the Murfreesboro District.

While Bradley Academy has a unique focus on integrating the arts into its curriculum, the school consistently underperforms compared to the district and state on standardized test scores, with only 33.9% of students proficient or better in English Language Arts in 2024-2025, compared to 41.5% in Murfreesboro and 38.9% statewide. The school's performance varies significantly across different student subgroups, with relatively strong results for African American and Hispanic students, but struggles with White students and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Additionally, Bradley Academy has consistently high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 10.4% to 20.2% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the district and state averages.

Interestingly, Bradley Academy is located in close proximity to several other highly ranked elementary schools, such as Discovery School and Homer Pittard Campus School, which perform significantly better academically. Despite increased per-student funding over the years, from $12,643 in 2020-2021 to $16,002 in 2023-2024, and a relatively low student-teacher ratio, Bradley Academy has not seen a corresponding improvement in academic outcomes, suggesting the need for a closer examination of the school's strategies and practices.

Open Quote I have worked with this school for the last 4 years, helping with the hair and makeup during their theatre programs. I am so impressed by the behavior of these students. They are very respectful and caring toward me and others that I have seen them interact at Center of the Arts and at their school. I have said this to many, "This is one of the best keep secrets in Murfreesboro. I am blessed to be able to help with these wonderful students, that bring so much to my life and others. Keep being the super stars that they are to so many. Thanks to Mrs. Isom for giving me this opportunity to bring my cosmetology students from TCAT Murfreesboro to help them with their production.
