Kenwood High School is a comprehensive high school in Clarksville, Tennessee, serving about 1,238 students in grades 9–12 as part of Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools. The school has made meaningful progress in the past year, climbing from the 26th to the 41st percentile in statewide rankings to place 236th out of 400 Tennessee high schools, but it still trails every other traditional high school in its immediate area.

Test scores improved sharply across most subjects, yet significant gaps remain. Algebra II proficiency jumped from 13.6% to 32.1%, Geometry from 19.2% to 35.9%, and US History from 29.1% to 42.8% — now matching the state average. However, English I is a serious concern: only 17.4% of Kenwood students are proficient, less than half the rate at nearby Montgomery Central High School (44.4%), Kirkwood High School (46.8%), and Rossview High School (49.5%). Biology and English II also lag well behind peer schools.

The graduation rate of 83.4% is the lowest among nearby comprehensive high schools — below the district rate of 91.1% — and about 23.8% of students are chronically absent. On the positive side, the school spends $12,310 per student, comparable to or higher than several much-higher-performing peers, and its recent gains have been particularly strong for African American, Hispanic, and economically disadvantaged students, who now score above the state median for their groups.
