Bolivar Elementary School in Bolivar, TN, serves approximately 670 students in grades PK–5 and is part of Hardeman County Schools, a district ranked in the bottom 10% statewide. In the 2025–2026 ranking cycle, the school placed 795th out of 1,019 Tennessee elementary schools, landing in the 22nd percentile with a 1-star rating—its strongest statewide ranking in more than a decade. While it remains below state averages in all core subjects, it generally performs at or above its own district average, and it is the largest elementary school in the area by a wide margin.

The school is showing real momentum. From 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, math proficiency rose from 24.3% to 29.5%, ELA from 22.8% to 31.7%, and science from 23.5% to 32.1%. It now outperforms nearby Whiteville Elementary School by a wide margin—its ELA proficiency is more than double Whiteville's, and its science proficiency is more than triple. It also leads Buckley-Carpenter Elementary School in all reported subjects. However, smaller neighbors such as Hornsby Elementary School, Toone Elementary School, and Grand Junction Elementary School all post higher proficiency rates.
