As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Staff at this school only care about pushing kids through with failing scores to recieve more funding. Teachers in all of Campbell County shouldn't be qualified to train dogs, let alone teach children. How are kids supposed to know the difference between your/you're if the teachers don't know themselves? I also didn't sign my child up for religious education, yet that's most of what my child learned. Close Quote

Open Quote We are a former military family with 4 grown sons and 2 elem age daughters. Needless to say we've dealt with a lot of schools during our 20 years of moving and Lafollette Elem is BY FAR the WORST school. Parent communication is horrid. Pto is constantly collecting money and there has been no field trips or anything. They had 2 dances planned that u had to pay to attend...of course. They cancelled 1 and the other one was.... unexplainable. At lunch the kids have to empty their tray and put there heads down when their done, not just the misbehaving kids....EVERY KID EVERY day and there's NO talking at lunch not even indoor voice. P.E. consist of watching movies or sometimes going to the playground. During "music" they draw or study or do homework. There is no incentive to do good be if a few students are bad the whole class gets punished. There is no phone call if school gets cancelled or no communication about ANYTHING! The secretary at the front desk is friendly but the school nurse rolled her eyes when my child came to see her. She makes my child afraid to say anything if she's sick. It's all work and nothing fun or stimulating for the kids. Nothing to be involved in.....just work. They get 1 20 min recess a day. There are 100 more reasons why lafollette elm is the worst school in the state. I could go on and on. It's been a horrible experience for my children and I'm glad it's almost over. Plz parents find a way if u can to drive ur child to another school. I would homeschool b4 I'd send mine back there next year. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
