Southside High is a public high school in Greenville, SC, serving 1,075 students in grades 9-12 within the highly regarded Greenville 01 school district. This is a school in the midst of a remarkable transformation, climbing from the 4th percentile statewide in 2018-2019 to the 39th percentile in 2025-2026, with a graduation rate that has jumped from 65.3% to 84.4% in just two years.

The most impressive story at Southside is its work with students who often need the most support. The school ranks in the top 7% of all schools in South Carolina for English Language Learner (ELL) student performance, and in the top 18% for disabled students—a dramatic 54-position improvement in just two years. Its Algebra 1 proficiency rate of 65.38% actually exceeds both the district (59.67%) and state (64.58%) averages, and it outperforms nearby J. L.
