Summary

Glenview Middle in Anderson, SC, serves 677 students in grades 6-8 within the Anderson 05 school district, and has earned a solid reputation as an above-average performer, ranking in the 79th percentile statewide with a 4-star rating.

Glenview consistently outperforms both district and state averages in core subjects, with particularly strong results in mathematics. The school has achieved a perfect 100% proficiency rate on the Algebra 1 End-of-Course exam for three consecutive years, a remarkable feat that exceeds the state average by over 24 percentage points. Glenview also demonstrates exceptional effectiveness with specific student groups, ranking in the 93rd percentile statewide for Disabled Students and the 81st percentile for both Low Socio-Economic Status and African American Students. The school invests heavily in its students, spending $14,070 per pupil with a favorable 12.8:1 student-teacher ratio. When compared to nearby Robert Anderson Middle, Glenview outperforms it by 20-30 percentage points in nearly every subject and grade level, and also has a significantly lower chronic absenteeism rate. Against the closer McCants Middle, Glenview is highly competitive, winning in 6th and 7th-grade math and 6th-grade ELA, though McCants edges ahead in 8th-grade subjects.

Despite these strengths, Glenview faces two notable challenges. The school's chronic absenteeism rate has climbed to 29.8%, significantly higher than both district (24.8%) and state (22.3%) averages, which could threaten future academic gains. Additionally, while the school excels at lifting students who face academic or economic challenges, it ranks in the 6th percentile for Gifted and Talented Students, suggesting that its highest-achieving students may not be receiving the same level of challenge. For parents, Glenview offers a strong, reliable education with exceptional math programming and dedicated support for diverse learners, though families with gifted students may want to explore enrichment options, and attendance should be a priority.

Open Quote Went 6-8th grade here,My most liked teachers include Mrs.Lister/Mr.Garrett and Mrs.Spraker.Only problem I had was the fact that many of the staff and teachers were snobby and rude,Very divided. For publicity reasons i wont be stating names, however i believe many of the teachers did not enjoy teaching and need to pick another career. It was ok,Some of the teachers need to try and act like they actually want their job Close Quote
