The district currently holds a 2-star rating and ranks in the 36th percentile statewide, placing it in the lower-middle tier of South Carolina districts.

For parents, the standout choice is Anderson Mill Elementary, which earns a 4-star rating and ranks in the 78th percentile—far ahead of any other school in the district. Its 4th grade math proficiency rate of 78% is nearly double the district average of 47.6%. Among middle schools, R. P. Dawkins Middle and L. E. Gable Middle both achieved a perfect 100% proficiency rate on the Algebra 1 EOCEP exam, dramatically outpacing the district (75.7%) and state (73.95%) averages. Fairforest Elementary and Pauline-Glenn Springs Elementary also perform well, with 3-star ratings and the lowest chronic absenteeism rates in the district (16.6% and 12.4%, respectively).
