The Lexington 01 school district in South Carolina serves 18 elementary schools (grades PK-5) and ranks 14th out of 75 districts statewide, consistently outperforming state averages in every subject, with the largest advantage in 3rd grade math (+9.4 points).

For parents, the standout options are Lake Murray Elementary (ranked 28th statewide, 96th percentile) and New Providence Elementary (ranked 35th), both maintaining 5-star ratings for three consecutive years with chronic absenteeism below 8.2%. Midway Elementary (ranked 84th) is the district's largest school (856 students) and also earns top-tier status. The most dramatic improvement story is Carolina Springs Elementary, which jumped from rank 294 to 126 in just two years—despite having above-average absenteeism (23.8%)—demonstrating that targeted academic interventions can overcome attendance challenges. On the other end, Forts Pond Elementary (ranked 566th) and Pelion Elementary (ranked 418th) face serious challenges, with chronic absenteeism exceeding 34% and math proficiency below 40% in most grades.
