Open Quote This school claims to be flexible and teach at a student's own pace, accommodating a wide variety of learning styles to help your children succeed... It's disappointing to say the least. Most of the teachers stick to a "one size fits all" curriculum, holding the smarter students back to keep the whole class on the same page.

Very little hands-on experience is provided, save for science and extracurricular classes. While a few of the teachers put tremendous effort into designing a flexible curriculum, most prefer not to cater to those needs. If your child has issues with reading and writing, this school is NOT for them.

While all of the teachers at this school are required to have masters degrees, it's quite obvious that some of them do not have degrees in the topic they're teaching. All of the teachers are very intelligent and well certified, but they are often teaching the wrong subject due to the lack of diversity in the staff.

This school is for grades K-12, which only provides more stress for all of the students and parents involved. The younger students are being exposed to things that they aren't ready for, socially and academically, and the older students feel crowded and babied. A few of the teachers are intimidated by the older students and either have trouble enforcing rules, or go overboard and treat students like convicts.

It seems that many of the teachers and staff simply don't understand what they're allowed to do. There have been several incidents of teachers publicly disclosing student grades in their classes, which is completely unacceptable and illegal.

Every attempt to get the children involved in student government and events has resulted in miserable failure, and generally the rules only get more strict afterwards. The school is still much more lenient than a traditional public school, but with the lack of social and academic opportunities it really isn't worth it.

A vast majority of the families attending are zealously christian, which is great if you're christian. But if you wish for your child to be exposed to an open-minded atmosphere welcoming of religious diversity, this isn't the place. Anything that doesn't strictly adhere to their religious beliefs is savagely attacked by students and parents alike. (For instance, the GSA was met with incredible hostility.)

Overall, the complete lack of coordination, communication, attention, patience, qualification and accommodation, coupled with the clashing age groups and intolerance, provide way too much drama for my tastes. This school talks big, but it's simply a disappointment. Close Quote
