As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I am the parent of 3 kids who have mostly grown up in the 4j district though they did also go to school in the Bethel district for several years too, giving me something to compare with.
Two of my kids have now finished school and I have one son still going to NEHS. If I had the money I would have pulled all of my kids out of this district and put them in private school because of the problems we have had with Madison Middle School, Kelly Middle School, and North Eugene High. In fact, many of my kids friends parents did just that do to similar problems. All 3 of my kids have ADHD and the oldest also has Aspbergers. Madison Middle Schoool did nothing about the constant harassment and abuse of my oldest child by staff and kids in their school. My son had rocks thrown at him on a field trip, the school did nothing, his aide Audrey constantly verbally, emotionally, and physically abused him, ie: slamming him up against the walls and lockers, and the school did nothing and in fact when he asked a teacher for help, he told my son it was his problem and he wasn't getting in the middle of it. My daughter began going to Madison when he was in the 8th grade and his aide began abusing her as well. She told my daughters friends not to hang out with her and assaulted her verbally and physically. The school again did nothing. Finally she kicked my daughter in front of 2 of her friends and we pressed charges and she was convicted of assault. The school still kept her on, allowing her to continue working with kids.
We moved and my kids had more problems with Kelly Middle School and NEHS. NEHS continuously violated my oldest son's rights and his IEP and the district ignored it. They also failed my daughter miserably who was on a 504. She is now almost 19 and finally going back to school to finish highschool after dropping out do to the lack of support at NEHS. My youngest son, should be on a 504 for ADHD, but despite him excelling on state tests and failing all his classes do to needing his homework load to be modified and help with organizational skills, we have still been unable to get him on a 504 because Kelly and NEHS and the 4j district have continuously violated his rights. I did everything required to get him on a 504 and Kelly Middle School would not get him on one, violating Federal law and his student rights time after time. The district made every excuse possible. Now he is a Sophmore at NEHS and he still isn't on the 504 he needs to be on. The latest problem is that when I told the principal this was wrong because he has a clear diagnoses from his doctor of ADHD and told her they also were violating his rights, she said they didn't have a copy of that diagnoses which Kelly was required by law to send them with the rest of his middle school records. I told her that the school and district both had copies and their was no excuse. She called 2 weeks later and said the school and district lost them. I wrote another letter about this and an abusive teacher who has had complaints by other parents, and miraculously, several months into the school now, they found his diagnoses that they should have had all along and I believe they knew they did. Now, all of a sudden, that isn't good enough. Now, another stall tactic, they say they want a current diagnoses before they will start the ball rolling on a 504 meeting. The story of my kids life in the 4j district, one stall tactic after another, finding every reason under the sun to not help my child and to violate his rights. The district needs an overhaul and so do the schools mentioned. I would not recommend this district to anyone wanting their child to have a good education and good treatment. It is about time the state does something about these issues. If you look at NEHS's state report card, it is clear the state is aware of the problems and mistreatment of kids with disabilities, yet they do nothing to force a change. NEHS scored about as low as you can get with educating kids with disabilities but the school and district continue to try to blame the problems on the parents instead of taking responsibility for their shortcomings. About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
