Summary

Lenox Elementary School is a public elementary school in Portland, Oregon, serving 366 students in grades K-6. The school is part of the Hillsboro School District 1J, which is ranked 58 out of 140 districts in the state.

Lenox Elementary is a high-performing school, consistently ranking in the top 25% of Oregon elementary schools. The school outperforms the district and state averages in standardized test scores across all grade levels and subject areas. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, Lenox's 3rd-6th grade students scored significantly higher in English Language Arts and Mathematics compared to the district. The school's 5th-grade science proficiency rate was also much higher than the district and state averages. Lenox's male students and Hispanic students, as well as its special education students, perform exceptionally well, ranking in the top 20% and top 5% of Oregon elementary schools, respectively.

While Lenox is a high-performing school, it faces some challenges. The school has experienced a concerning increase in chronic absenteeism, rising from 25.7% in 2021-2022 to 38.1% in 2022-2023. Additionally, Lenox's performance in the gifted and talented program is relatively weak, ranking in the bottom 25% of Oregon elementary schools for this subgroup. When compared to the top-performing schools in the nearby Beaverton School District, such as Sato, Oak Hills, Bethany, and Springville Elementary Schools, Lenox's academic performance, while still strong, is not as exceptional.
