Oregon Trail School District 46 is a 10-school district — six elementary schools, three middle schools, and one high school — serving 4,202 students. As a whole it ranks 15th of 141 Oregon districts (89th percentile, 5 stars) and outperforms the state in English language arts (51.9% proficient vs. 43.8%) and math (41.9% vs. 32.9%), while running slightly behind in science (29.7% vs. 30.6%). Enrollment is concentrated: Sandy High School alone enrolls 1,420 students, about a third of the district total, while the elementary and K-8 schools together enroll 1,817.

Oregon Trail Academy is the clearest standout. Sandy Grade School (78th percentile, 4 stars) has the district's second-highest math score (52.5%) and the highest reported free/reduced-lunch rate (66.97%). Welches Elementary School also earns 4 stars at the 72nd percentile.

The main challenge is Sandy High School, the district's only high school and its lowest performer: 20th percentile, 1 star, with ELA at 28.6%, math at 15.3%, science at 21.2%, the highest chronic absenteeism (42.4%), and the highest student-teacher ratio (24.1) — yet a 96.3% graduation rate versus the state's 83.0%. Science is a district-wide weak spot; Naas Elementary School has the lowest science proficiency at 17.2%. Spending and class size do not cleanly predict outcomes, and the district serves a high-poverty population, with free/reduced lunch near 60% at most schools.
