Summary:

Redmond, Oregon is home to three high schools — Redmond Proficiency Academy (grades 6–12), Redmond High School and Ridgeview High School (both grades 9–12) — all within Redmond School District 2J, which is ranked 45th of 141 Oregon districts. The three schools are close in size, serving 906, 896 and 844 students respectively, for a total of 2,646.

Each school stands out in a different way. Ridgeview High School is the strongest overall, at 3 stars and the 55th percentile, with the best English language arts results — 54.7% in both all grades and 11th grade, above the district's 45.4% and the state's 43.8% — and 11th-grade math at 27.6%, above district and state. Its science, however, is a sharp weak point at 16.2%, far below the district's 26.8% and the state's 30.6%. Redmond Proficiency Academy has the highest graduation rate at 97.3%, the best all-grade ELA at 51.1%, and by far the lowest spending at $5,450 per student, but it serves grades 6–12, so its all-grade scores include middle school, and its 11th-grade scores are suppressed by the state and therefore unknown. Redmond High School has the lowest ELA (30.0%) and math (21.6%) but the highest science (28.0%) and the lowest chronic absenteeism (36.2%), and its rank improved from 0 to 2 stars.

Across all three, mathematics is the clearest shared weakness: every school falls below both the district's 33.9% and the state's 32.9%. Chronic absenteeism is also above the district's 33.1% and the state's 33.5% at all three schools, highest at 41.9% at Ridgeview High School. Graduation rates, by contrast, are a bright spot — all three exceed the state's 83.0%.
