Redmond, Oregon has 11 public schools — six elementary, two middle, and three high schools — all served by Redmond School District 2J, which enrolls about 6,308 students and ranks 45th of 141 Oregon districts at 3 stars (68th percentile). The city's strongest results come from its elementary schools, while middle and high school math and science lag.

Sage Elementary School is the standout — the only Redmond school with 4 stars and a 73rd-percentile rank — posting 55.5% ELA, 43.7% math, and 40.0% science, all above district and state averages. Tom McCall Elementary School follows at the 69th percentile, with the city's highest science score (47.0%). Among high schools, Ridgeview High School (55th percentile, 3 stars) leads high school ELA at 54.7% with a 90.1% graduation rate, but only 16.2% in science. Redmond Proficiency Academy has the city's best graduation rate (97.3%) and 51.1% ELA, but 26.3% math and 40.1% chronic absenteeism. Redmond High School has the lowest ELA (30.0%) and math (21.6%) in the city, though its rank climbed from the 7th percentile to the 35th.

Science is the citywide weak spot: Redmond averages roughly 26.8%, below Oregon's 30.6%, with Ridgeview High School (16.2%), Elton Gregory Middle School (16.8%), M A Lynch Elementary School (18.2%), and John Tuck Elementary School (20.4%) notably low. Chronic absenteeism is worse in high schools — every elementary and middle school sits below the district's 33.1% rate, while Ridgeview (41.9%), Redmond Proficiency Academy (40.1%), and Redmond High (36.2%) exceed it. Poverty is high everywhere (72.96%–85.04% free/reduced lunch), yet Sage and Tom McCall, near 75%, outperform the state.
