Edgerton High School is a small, rural public school serving about 262 students in grades 7–12 as the only building in the Edgerton Local district in northwest Ohio. In 2025–26 it ranks 160th of 795 Ohio high schools — the 80th percentile, 4 stars — and it has earned 4 stars for ten straight years, peaking at the 90th percentile in 2023–24 before slipping to 87th and then 80th.

Academically, Edgerton outperforms the Ohio average in 10 of 11 tested subjects, by roughly 11.5 percentage points on average, with social studies and English II running 15 to 28 points above the state. Its strongest, most stable result is with low-income students, who have ranked at the 95th–98th percentile with 5 stars for three straight years, even though roughly 46% of students were economically disadvantaged in 2023–24. The 2025–26 graduation rate was 100% — tied for highest in the comparison group and well above Fairview High School (93.5%), Hilltop High School (93.3%), and Montpelier High School (90.4%). Chronic absenteeism (14.5%) is second-lowest among peers and down from 24.4% four years ago, and 7th-grade math (67.7%) leads the whole comparison group. All of this is achieved with the lowest per-pupil spending ($9,517) and largest student–teacher ratio (16.7) of the ten schools.
