Liberty High School in Youngstown, OH, serves 492 students in grades 7–12 as part of the Liberty Local district — and despite its Youngstown address, it is not part of Youngstown City Schools. In 2025–26 it ranked 599th of 795 Ohio high schools, the 25th percentile with 1 star. That was an improvement from 647th in 2024–25, but the school has mostly been a 1-star school since 2015–16, with occasional 2-star years such as 2022–23 and 2015–16.

Liberty outperforms Youngstown City's Chaney High, East High School, and Youngstown Virtual Academy in most measures, and generally beats Mahoning Valley Community School. It trails McDonald High School, Youngstown Rayen Early College High School, Hubbard High School, Girard Senior High School, and Mathews High School in many subjects. Graduation is a relative strength at 94.9%, essentially tied with Girard and above Mathews, Chaney, East, and Mahoning Valley, though below Rayen, Hubbard, and McDonald. Chronic absenteeism is a major challenge at 47.8% — well above Mathews, Rayen, Hubbard, McDonald, and Girard, but below Chaney, East, and Mahoning Valley. About 80.89% of students qualified for free/reduced lunch in 2024–25, down from 99.21% in 2022–23; the 2024–25 student-teacher ratio was 18.2, and 2018–19 per-student spending was $12,662.

On 2025–26 state tests, Liberty scored above the state in Biology (68.9% vs. 67.0%) and Algebra I (63.2% vs. 61.6%), but below in most other subjects, with especially large gaps in 8th-grade Science (37.1 vs. 61.2), 8th-grade Math (33.9 vs. 52.0), Geometry (32.4 vs. 43.3), and American Government (54.3 vs. 71.6). Middle-school math and science stand out as weak spots. Still, results improved from 2024–25 to 2025–26 in English II, Geometry, Algebra I, Biology, and American History, and special education and low-income student outcomes have improved in recent state rankings.
