Botkins High School is a small public school serving grades 7–12 with 261 students in the rural western Ohio community of Botkins, the high school of the Botkins Local district. In 2025–26 the school ranked 92nd of 795 Ohio high schools (88th percentile, 4 stars), while its district ranked 67th of 773 (91st percentile, 5 stars). Botkins was once near the very top of the state—10th in 2020–21, 23rd in 2021–22—and while it remains in the top 12%, it has slipped from that peak. Locally it sits in a strong second tier: New Bremen High School (9th), Fort Loramie Junior-Senior High School (11th), and Minster Junior/Senior High School (5th) rank higher, but Botkins is ahead of Sidney High School (565th), St Marys Memorial High School (501st), and Wapakoneta High School (320th), and competitive with New Knoxville High School, Jackson Center High School, and Anna High School.

Test scores are above the state average in nearly every subject, with the biggest strengths in American Government (94.7 vs. 71.6), American History (92.7), Biology (89.5), Geometry (87.2 vs. 43.3), English II (84.2), and Algebra I (81.1). Geometry actually tops Fort Loramie, Minster, and New Bremen. The clear weak spot is Integrated Math II, where proficiency was 20% in 2025–26, 0% in 2024–25, and 6.3% in 2023–24—all below the state average. Graduation rates are excellent—100% in 2025–26 and 2024–25—matching the top local districts and above Sidney (91.8%). Chronic absenteeism has improved markedly, from 13.7% in 2023–24 to 6.7% in 2025–26, better than most nearby schools, though only Fort Loramie (2.4%) and New Bremen (4.9%) are clearly lower; Botkins' high school rate still runs above its own district average.
