Open Quote Students do well because most of them come from high socioeconomic homes, have professionals as parents and are well-prepared when they come to school. The teachers and administrators at CVMS are no better or worse than most of the teachers in the Mahoning-Trumbull County areas. In fact, some of the teachers are decidedly substandard. Discipline is good in the school, though. That helps a lot. There is a moderate amount of discrimination based on who you are and who you know, what your name is, etc. Canfield tends to be a very snobbish community and this is reflected in the schools. About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
