Conotton Valley High School is a small, rural public school in Bowerston, Ohio, serving grades 6 through 12 with 226 students as the only school in the Conotton Valley Union Local district. Unusually for the area, it houses middle and high school grades in one building — and its results have climbed sharply. It ranked 222 of 795 schools (72nd percentile, 4 stars) in 2025–2026, up from 634 of 819 (23rd percentile, 1 star) in 2020–2021, the steepest sustained improvement among nearby schools, several of which have slipped over the same period.

In 2025–2026, 12 of 13 tested subjects outscored the Ohio average, with proficiency averaging roughly 72% against the state's roughly 60%. Algebra I is the standout: 87.5% proficient, the highest in the comparison group and about 26 points above the state (61.6%), ahead of Tuscarawas Valley Middle-High School, Indian Valley High School, New Philadelphia High School, Carrollton High School, Dover High School, Malvern High School, Claymont High School and Sandy Valley High School.
