St Marys West Intermediate School is a public school in Saint Marys, Ohio, serving about 425 students in grades 2 through 5 as the only intermediate school in the St Marys City School District, with younger children arriving from St. Marys East Primary School (K–2). The school has historically ranked between the 68th and 78th percentiles statewide, but in 2025–2026 it fell to 602nd of 1,560 schools (61st percentile, 3 stars), down from the 70th percentile (4 stars) the year before.

Test scores still beat state averages in most subjects: 5th-grade science at 78.2% versus 62.7% statewide, and 5th-grade math at 75.2% versus 59.1%. Only 3rd-grade math (59%) came in below the state's 62.1%. Nearby districts such as Minster, Marion Local, New Bremen, New Knoxville, Coldwater and Botkins post proficiency rates above 90%, but those communities have far lower poverty.
