Open Quote The first time I went to OHS I saw a mural of a little girl exposing her underpants on the girl's restroom door, and a painting resembling prison bars on the door to the boy's restroom. Not a great first impression.

My child attended OHS for during Freshman year. Fights were rampant and students were suspended. Students were lacking in self-control and had little impetus to study and achieve academic excellence. Teachers had little control in the classrooms and older teachers are being pushed out in favor of younger teachers. Liberal ideology is embraced & is a part of most classes...not great for families with a more moderate or conservative view of life & politics. My child rarely had homework and never brought home a textbook...yet scored very well. I want my kids to learn that they need to put time and effort into achieving good things (high grades, great jobs, promotions, recognition), but that lesson is not being taught at Oberlin High School.
