Summary

Dike School of Arts is an elementary school (grades PK-8) located in Cleveland, Ohio, within the Cleveland Municipal school district, with a student population of 302 and a 1 out of 5 star rating from SchoolDigger.

Dike School of Arts faces significant challenges, including extremely high chronic absenteeism rates ranging from 35% to 56.1% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the district and state averages. The school's students also perform significantly below state and district averages across all grade levels and subject areas, with only 3.6% of 5th graders proficient or better in Math, compared to 24.5% for the Cleveland Municipal district and 56.7% for the state. The school struggles to support the academic achievement of various student subgroups, with these groups consistently ranking in the bottom 10-20% of their respective peer groups statewide.

While the nearby schools, such as Campus International School, George Washington Carver, and Bolton, also perform poorly compared to state averages, they generally outperform Dike School of Arts across various metrics. Additionally, Dike School of Arts spends approximately $13,665 per student, which is higher than the spending at some nearby charter schools, but the school's academic performance remains significantly below state and district averages, indicating that simply increasing funding may not be the sole solution to the school's challenges.
