Summary

The Academy for Multilingual Immersion Studies is an elementary school located in Cincinnati, Ohio, serving grades PK-8 with a total enrollment of 561 students. The school is part of the Cincinnati Public Schools district, which is ranked 596 out of 828 districts in Ohio and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

The school's academic performance, as measured by state test scores, is significantly below the district and state averages across all grade levels and subject areas. For example, in 2024-2025, only 5% of 5th-grade students were proficient or better in Science, compared to 38.7% for the district and 63.4% for the state. The school also has consistently high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 39.7% to 46.0% over the past few years, which is significantly higher than the district and state averages. Compared to nearby schools in the same district, such as Pleasant Ridge Montessori School, Bond Hill Academy, and Roselawn Condon School, the Academy for Multilingual Immersion Studies generally performs worse across various academic metrics.

Despite the school's focus on multilingual immersion, this specialized program does not appear to be translating into improved academic outcomes for its students compared to other schools in the area. The school's consistently low rankings, with a ranking of 1523 out of 1558 Ohio elementary schools in 2024-2025, suggest that the school faces significant challenges in providing a quality education to its students. The school's location within a low-performing district and its relatively lower per-student spending may be contributing factors to its performance struggles.

Open Quote I love this school. The principal, teachers, and support staff work together to educate students in the core curriculum while at the same time teaching them to become fluent Spanish speakers. There are many extra-curricular activities, such as Young Readers, Robotics Team, AMIS Ambassadors, and Girls Action League that help students to become well-rounded individuals and develop leadership skills.
