Summary

KIPP Columbus is a public charter school serving 2,084 students in grades K-12 in Columbus, Ohio. The school has a strong focus on college preparation, as evidenced by its consistently high 4-year graduation rates, which have ranged from 92.2% to 98.7% over the past 5 years, significantly outperforming the state average.

While KIPP Columbus has seen a decline in chronic absenteeism over the past 5 years, from 55.0% to 42.1%, this rate is still quite high compared to the state average and nearby schools like Patriot Preparatory Academy and Unity Academy. Additionally, KIPP Columbus students generally perform below the state average on Ohio state assessments across grade levels and subject areas, suggesting the school could focus on improving student academic outcomes.

When compared to other nearby charter and public schools, KIPP Columbus stands out as having the highest graduation rates but also the highest chronic absenteeism rates. This suggests the school is effective at keeping students engaged and on track to graduate, but may need to address underlying issues contributing to high absenteeism. KIPP Columbus spends $8,189 per student, which is higher than the state average but lower than some nearby charter schools like Great River Connections Academy ($9,173 per student) and Ohio Connections Academy ($7,359 per student), indicating the school is able to achieve its strong graduation rates with relatively efficient spending.

Open Quote One of the most horrible schools that my daughter goes too!! Can't wait to get her up out of there!! The only thing nice about that school is that its newly built!! Most of the teachers are very rude to students and petty towards students as well!! Most of the teachers do not listen to the child instead say they are too busy!! Close Quote
