Summary

Alliance Academy of Cincinnati is a K–8 charter school at 1712 Duck Creek Road on Cincinnati's northeast side, enrolling roughly 350 students and operating as its own single-school district.

Its defining story is a sustained turnaround. Nine straight years of improvement took it from the bottom 10% of Ohio schools — 9th percentile with zero stars in 2015‑16 — to 575th of 1,560 schools, the 63rd percentile with 3 stars, in 2025‑26; the 26-point single-year jump that year was the largest in its record. In 2025‑26 the school met or beat the state average on 11 of 14 Ohio State Tests, by an average of +7.3 points (science +20.2, English language arts +9.9, math +0.3). Fifth-grade ELA was 96 versus the state's 70.4, fifth-grade science 92 versus 62.7, third-grade ELA 80 versus 63.4, and eighth-grade math 77.8 versus 52. Students from low-income families rank in the 79th percentile statewide — well above the school's overall standing. Among nearby elementaries, only Hyde Park School outperforms it, and it is well ahead of North Avondale Montessori School, Rockdale Academy, and every Norwood City and St Bernard-Elmwood Place City school.

The main caveat is attendance: 50.2% of students are chronically absent, roughly five times the rate at Hyde Park School and higher than Sharpsburg Elementary, Williams Avenue Elementary School, North Avondale Montessori School and St Bernard-Elmwood Place Elementary School — though that figure has fallen 13.5 points over five years and dropped 8.5 points in the same year test scores surged. Math in grades 6 and 7 is the academic weak spot; seventh-grade math sits 24.6 points below the state. Per-student spending of $9,224 (2018‑19, the only year reported) is leaner than most neighbors. With about 350 students across nine grade levels, individual grade results can swing on a few students.
