Summary

Escobedo Edmundo Eddie Senior Middle School is a 6–8 middle school in Las Vegas, NV, serving 918 students in the Clark County School District. The district is rated relatively well — 5th of 12 Nevada districts, 58th percentile, 4 stars — but the school itself is lower: 90th of 148 Nevada middle schools, 39th percentile, 2 stars in 2025–2026. It earned 3 stars in 2016–2017 and 2017–2018, then settled at 2 stars. Its weakest recent year was 2022–2023 at the 30th percentile, followed by 34th, 41st, and 39th percentile, so it has slightly recovered, though it remains in the bottom half. It is high-poverty: 100% free/reduced lunch in 2024–2025 and 2023–2024, and 99.89% in 2022–2023, similar to nearby schools.

Compared with nearby same-district schools, math is the clearest weakness. Its all-grade math proficiency is 21.4%, while the district is 33.8% and the state is 36.2%; by grade it falls from 26.3% in 6th to 22.5% in 7th and 16.3% in 8th. That is below higher-performing neighbors such as Rogich Sig Middle School (61.4%), Lied STEM Academy Middle School (59.8%), and Cadwallader Ralph Middle School (44.6%). Reading is closer to average: 41.3% all-grade versus 43.3% district and 45.2% state, and 6th-grade reading is 42.7%, above both. Science is mixed — 26.9% all-grade is above district and state, but 8th-grade science is 26.9%, below both, and the all-grade figure dropped from 38.1% the prior year.

One of the strongest positive trends is attendance: chronic absenteeism fell from 35.0% in 2021–2022 to 30.6% in 2024–2025 and 25.3% in 2025–2026, now better than district and state averages. Still, nearby schools like Lied STEM Academy Middle School (9.5%), Becker Ernest Middle School (16.8%), and Rogich Sig Middle School (17.1%) have much lower rates. It spent $12,438 per student in 2023–2024, above several higher-performing neighbors, and its student-teacher ratio improved from 39.5 in 2022–2023 to 24.1 in 2024–2025, now similar to high performers. Overall, it is a school in transition: attendance is improving, reading is close to average, and class size has dropped, but math remains the biggest opportunity, especially in 8th grade.

Open Quote This is a terrible school there is a lot of bad teachers and there is hardly any good ones around. The aide in my class a threatens to call my parents and is rude to me. They also let people violate their dress code and do nothing about it. There have been kids swearing they are told to stop but still do it anyways. Seriously reconsider putting your kid in this school Close Quote
