For 2025–2026 it ranks 251st of 346 elementary schools statewide — 27th percentile, 1 star — with proficiency of 38.71% in Language Arts, 24.19% in Math, and 22.39% in 5th-grade Science. Those core-subject rates sit essentially at the district average but below the state.

The defining story is trajectory. Stone was a top-quartile school a decade ago — 74th of 410 in 2015–2016, with four stars for four straight reported years — and was still at the 73rd percentile in 2021–2022. The 2025–2026 drop of 27 percentile points is the largest single-year decline in the school's recorded history. Against its ten nearby Hobbs schools, Stone lands in the bottom third: 9th of 11 in ELA and 7th of 11 in math.
