As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote I don't understand why this school has such a low rating. My daughter has always had great teachers using innovative techniques, with up-to-date technology. The school is filled with really wonderful, dedicated, staff, and the learning environment i've seen has been really wonderful. this is a title 1 school, so it serves a really diverse population of low-to-middle income students but I've never gotten the sense that the school is doing anything except their best. My child receives the specialized attention she needs for her specific learning hurdles the principle seems to know each parent by name and face. This is a good neighborhood school. I'm lucky we moved here. Close Quote

Open Quote Teachers are not helpful and tend to be quite defensive when asked about a child's progress. Particularly when the child is gifted.

Teachers require only the lowest performance from their students. IEPs are not followed through. Teachers teach to the lowest possible state standard, actually refusing to teach anything more than the lowest standard.

Teachers refuse to break students into groups, so that each student performs at his/her best.
The principal will not match students with appropriate teachers (so that a teacher who is good with Math will be paired with a student who needs a bit of help).

I've lived in 4 states and 2 countries, and this is BY FAR the worst school I've ever seen. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
